"PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES"

"...our mission is to provide restoration, guidance, and grace to vulnerable young people seeking a better way of life by offering hope, change, transition, and infusing the gospel in love..."

About

A Place For Us ministries was established in 2001. The heart of the ministry is centered around the following scripture.

Isaiah 61:1-3

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion - to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified."

In 2002, a temporary home was opened in a donated facility on Lake Greenwood where over twenty residents were served. After this housing was sold in 2004, A Place For Us broke ground in 2005 to begin construction on a permanent facility. The 3265 square foot home, which was completed debt-free in December 2006, can house up to six residents at one time.

In the fall of 2005, A Place For Us opened “The Alcoves.” The trendy store is a marketplace ministry consisting of approximately 30 upscale boutiques. In addition to the variety boutique shopping, "The Secret Place", a modern resale store, and "His Place", a Christian resource book center established in 2017, are both owned and operated by A Place For Us ministries. "Gather", a bistro and bakery, is also located inside "The Alcoves" building and provides a welcoming stage to dine in elegance or host ritzy parties. "Salon Beautopia & Spa" is another great feature located inside "The Alcoves" building for your personal maintenance and upkeep needs.

In 2007, A Place For Us ministries began hosting monthly prayer meetings at "The Alcoves" which has grown vastly since its beginning. Meetings are held each first Monday of the month at 6:30 PM in the Learning Center.

In August 2010, A Place for Us decided to grow the area of ministry within our Residential Program to not only include those dealing with crisis pregnancies, but to reach out to young women struggling with other life controlling issues as well.

By offering the use of a local church parsonage from a supporting church body of Christ, A Place For Us was able to begin a Transitional Program in July, 2015. This home can serve up to two graduates and their children. This same year, A Place for Us opened up a training center in Nicaragua to host a beauty school, ELA, music classes, and a children’s outreach department. Various teams are built to be an outreach to the communities and nearby villages. At this time, the ministry furthered its name to A Place for Us Ministries International.

The Lord is so present and faithful in and through A Place For Us ministries. This incredible ministry strives to boldly live out the call from God, mandated from heaven, and offer prayer and encouragement for each hurting person that enters through the front doors.
