We are very excited about the Lord orchestrating this whole event! We were not planning on doing a banquet this year in order to prepare for our 10 year anniversary up next year....but the Lord definitely had other plans! Last fall our birthmothers were given a weekend at The Cove in Asheville NC. Little did we know that Kim Hill was going to to be there as the musical guest. Kim Hill's song, "There's A Place for Us" was used by the Lord in naming our ministry after one of our board members listened to it over the radio!

Needless to say the birthmothers and our staff were all very excited to meet her. After the conference, Kim's agent contacted us saying that Kim really wanted to come help us raise awareness and support of our ministry and she was willing to come for a fraction of her cost in order to be a part of this event.

So, as the Lord would have it; we are now moving forward with a Fundraising Dinner and Concert on Thursday, October 28, 2010. In addition, since we also have a lot of birthmothers contacting us from outside the Greenwood area...this year we are hoping to get churches in the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Columbia area willing to send 2-4 people from their fellowship to attend and find out what A Place for Us Ministries is all about and how they can come along side us and support the ministry.
